ATMA demand anti-dumping duty on TBR tyre imports

Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) said report about the rising 9 % of imports have risen 9 per cent in FY17. The association has highlighted the spiralling upwards of import of truck and bus radial tyres which has reached a new high of 1.2 lakh units per month in FY17 from 40,000 units per month in FY14. Now, imported TBR tyres accounts for close to 40% of replacement demand, where it affects domestic players and rubber producers. Since rubber is largely consumed by tyre segment, the offtake from them is also affected. It has demanded an early imposition of anti-dumping duty on TBR tyres from China.
