Asahi India Glass to set up a greenfield plant in Mehesana

Asahi India Glass (AIS) is planning to set up a greenfield automotive glass plant near Mehsana in Gujarat. The project cost is estimated at Rs. Rs.500 crore in the facility and will be implemented in two phases. The new plant will cater to the upcoming Maruti Suzuki plant. In the first phase, the unit will be able to produce one million laminated glasses and 1.2 million tempered glass sets per annum. The AIS board has approved the investment for the first phase of the project.
