Tata Motors set to supply Safari Storme to Indian Armed Forces

Tata Motors have started delivery of defence specification edition of Tata Storme to army. The company had earlier won the contract after some competition from Mahindra is now set to supply ,192 units of Safari Storme to the Indian Armed Forces. The new Tata Safari Storme for the Indian army is categorised under the new GS800 (General Service 800) vehicle classification, which subscribes to the basic criteria of a capable hardtop vehicle with air-conditioning and a minimum payload of 800kg.

The defence vehicle will be painted in military green and all of its chrome parts in domestic edition will be blacked out or painted green. The vehicle also gets two special, heavy-duty hooks at the back and a unique jerry-can holder on the left rear fender. Tata Motors have upgraded drivetrain and provided a significantly modified suspension set up for this defence spec vehicle.
