Maruti Suzuki stops diesel model of Ignis

Maruti Suzuki India has stopped production of diesel version of its premium hatchback Ignis due to low demand. The model introduced in the January 2017 has sold only 72000 units till date. Ignis is retailed through company’s premium NEXA channel and helps MSI in expanding its range and presence. Ignis model provided a fillip to Maruti Suzuki image from a small car maker to get a premium middle segment cars. Now, the model would now be available with 1.2 litre petrol engine mated to both manual and automatic transmissions.
