Engine Market in India

Engines are key power sources for equipment in industries. Diesel engines forms the major part of engine market compared to gas engines as they are cost efficient. The key industries that find engine applications are automotive, power generation, marine, agriculture gensets, construction, off-road equipment and other commercial vehicles. Other alternative fuels like bio-diesel and vegetable oil are also catching up in India.
India is producing approximately 600,000 units of diesel engine every year with significant share in exports. However, the market is fragmented with large section of unorganized players. The industry is located mostly around Agra and Rajkot region in India.
