
BMW India has launched the mid premium segment G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India. The bikes are priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The company already started bookings for these motorcycles over a month back for an amount of Rs 50,000.
These mid-segment bikes have been developed in collaboration with India’s TVS Motor Company and is built at Hosur plant of Tamil Nadu. The entry-level BMW models take design inspiration from bigger BMW bikes in their respective segment. The G 310 R takes design cues from the S 1000 R while the G 310 GS looks inspired by the other GS series models.
The bikes are powered by a new 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 34PS at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm. The bikes are capable of doing a 0-50kmpl sprint in just 2.5 seconds and have a top speed of 143kmph. Some of the special features include wide tyres, front inverted forks, rear monoshock suspension, front and rear disc brakes, and anti-lock braking system (ABS).
