
Maruti Suzuki has launched all new Wagon R in India starting at Rs 4.19 lakh for the base 1.0-litre LXi variant and going up to Rs 5.69 lakh for the AMT-equipped 1.2-litre ZXi model. The new Wagon R holds to its tall-boy design but slightly different from the outgoing model.
It also gets new engine a more powerful, 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine. It is available in four trims – 1.2 VXi (Rs 4.89 lakh), 1.2 VXi AMT (Rs 5.36 lakh), ZXi (Rs 5.22 lakh) and ZXi AMT (Rs 5.69 lakh). The 68hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine continues unchanged and is available in LXi (Rs 4.19 lakh), VXi (Rs 4.69 lakh) and VXi AMT (Rs 5.16 lakh) options.
Now the new Wagon R shares its Heartect platform with other models like the Ertiga, Ignis, Baleno and Swift, which makes it lighter than the outgoing model and also meeting upcoming crash test norms.
The car is expensive to the tune of ₹ 34,000 than the outgoing model, which had a price tag between Rs 4.15 lakh and Rs 5.35 lakh
