Renault India has taken steps to discontinue the model Captur SUV in India. The mid sized SUV launched in 2017 at premium to Duster model faired poorly with clocking sales of just over 250 with over 6500+ total sales across India. With the arrival of BS-VI norms which has put the spanner in the works and the petrol edition faces stiff competition from Kia Seltos and MG Hector, Hyundai Creta and others.
Now, Renault can focus on its other successful models like Kwid and Triber. It is also bringing in its compact SUV Kiger soon.
