Bridgestone ventured into India in 1996 with ACC by setting up a manufacturing plant in Kheda to manufacture tyres. Currently, the company produces 2.7 million tyres per year and is established as leader in radial tyres segment. In March 2003, the company became a 100% subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp, Japan.
In October 2017, the company has plans to increase its manufacturing capability of 25,000 tyres per day to 40,000 tyres per day. The expansion programme is likely to be completed by 2022
