Menon Pistons, part of the OEM auto component supplier Menon Group, is a stand-alone limited company that commenced its operation in 1965. It has three plants with all located at Kolhapur, Maharashtra having an installed capacity for manufacturing 324,000 pistons, 6 mn rings and 1 mn pistons pins p.a. The plants operate at 90% capacity utilisation and use CAD/CAM for designing and manufacturing. It caters to LCV, HCV, two and three wheeler segment. Menon Pistons supplies to the replacement market as well as OEMs.
The company exports to the US, Germany, Italy and Japan. Its clients include Cummins India, Maruti-Suzuki, Tata Motors, BEML-Komatsu, New Holland Ford and Eicher among others. The domestic market accounts for 84% of the total revenue. The company is expecting 11% increase in the next two years. Menon Pistons has a JV with Dang Yang Co, South Korea for the manufacturing of pistons. It is accredited with ISO 9001 and TS 16949 certifications
