Piaggio India is set to launch battery swapping for its Ape City electric three wheelers in India. The company has partnered with Sun Mobility, for the world’s first interoperable battery swapping station for 2- & 3-wheelers.
It will use an innovative pay-per-use model that reduces both their initial cost of purchase and also overall operating costs.
The adoption of such technology will come into practice by end of this year in Bangalore. With commercial 3 wheelers, it can help address charging anxiety of the vehicle being idle for three to five hours when it is being charged.
