In September 2015, the company had acquired Laksar Birla Tyre plant in Uttaranchal and merger is pending with Competition Commission of India.
In April 2016, the company had completed the acquisition.
In September 2019, the company has successfully completed a best practice five star occupational health and safety audit conducted by the British Safety Council. JK Tyre’s four manufacturing facilities in Chennai, Mysore, Banmore and Laksar all received the certification
