Balkrishna Tyres is setting up a modern state-of-the-art tyre manufacturing facility in Bhuj in Gujarat. The new facility will produce ultra large-sized all-steel OTR (off-the-road) radial tyre with a production capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 5,000 million.
The facility also includes Research and Development facility, a modern test track and employee housing. It has a carbon black manufacturing facility here which was commissioned in March 2020 with a production capacity of 140,000 tonnes a year.
As of July 2020, the project is in implementation and is likely to go operational by the year 2021.
