Okinawa Autotech , the electric two wheeler manufacturer is planning to invest about USD 40 million over a period of three years. The company plans to set up an R&D centre, expand its sales network and build another manufacturing plant. It has already made an investment of around Rs 350 million to set up operations including a manufacturing facility at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.
The company has launched a e-scooter under the brand ‘Ridge’ and is priced at Rs.43,702 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The USP of the vehicle is that it can reach a speed of 80 kmph and it needs only two hours time for a full charge.
In February 2018, the company is planning to invest ?275 crore in the next three years to expand operations and introduce new products. It will be expanding dealer network to 500 by 2020 from the almost 170 now.
