Toyota has launched its mid-size sedan, Yaris- a global competitor for Honda City in India. It is priced at Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for lower variant and goes all the way up to Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The car will have a 1497cc capacity of 1.5-litre VVT-i, 4 cylinder petrol engine which will generate 109 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm with peak torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm. It also has a 6-speed manual and 7-step CVT (automatic) gearbox, with the claimed mileage of 21 kmpl. Currently, the sedan is only available in the petrol engine variant, but later the brand is expected to offer a 1.4-liter diesel trim as well.
